• Question: Will your work help us to understand how our brain works

      Hi Sanchez87
      At the moment I am working in the field of cancer (oncology) not how the brain works (neuroscience) but I have colleagues who are working in this area. They are currently finding drugs to help people with epilepsy, migraine and dementia. So although I am not looking at the brain and how it works at the moment other people who work in Regulatory Affairs certainly are.

      Hi Sanchez87

      My current work won’t, but when I was at university one of my projects looked at how the chemicals in the brain change when people have depression. Looking at the brain when it’s sick helps us to understand how to develop drugs to treat it, and also how it works when it’s healthy.

      And like Angela said, there are lots of areas of neuroscience research investigating how the brain works. One I find really exciting is neuroengineering, which looks at how the brain translates its electrical messages and could one day lead to computers that can be controlled with your brain!
