I work for the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), the professional membership organisation for people working in chemical, process and biochemical engineers (or anyone with an interest in these areas).
My job is primarily to highlight the range of career opportunities available from a degree in chemical engineering – a career that’s in high demand but perhaps not as well known as other engineering disciplines.
The main areas of my work is to keep our careers website at www.whynotchemeng.com up to date, generate careers information and posters for schools and manage our network of volunteers who attend careers/science/engineering events to talk about their jobs.
I also work with universities to strengthen links between chemical engineering departments, chemical engineering students and IChemE, and promote IChemE membership to students, graduates and academic staff.
