• Question: will the moon blow up sometime in the future?and will it mess up the earth?

      Hey JHoadleyy,
      I don’t think we need to worry about the moon blowing up – it seems very unlikely. If it were to happen however, it would have an effect on the earth for sure. The moon affects the tides, the earths orbit around the sun, how long our days are and how extreme our weather is to name a few things. If the moon were to suddenly disappear life on earth would definitely get more hectic and uncertain, but we could probably adapt.       Hi There
      I was looking at this for you and found a NASA website – see below. It seems meteors have hit the moon and exploded but there seems little chance of the moon exploding….thank goodness – think of how our bio – rhythms would be messed up!
