That’s a pretty general question so I can only give a general answer, so medical-based jobs – ie doctor, nurse, vet; most, if not all of the professional engineering jobs will require physics and perhaps chemistry depending on the discipline, and some technology-based jobs too.

Also, jobs such as engineering/science technicians in research, manufacturing, process plants etc.

Even jobs not directly linked to science may require scientific knowledge – such as PR/marketing/careers/sales/advertising etc for companies who work in scientific areas.

      I hope this helps.

It really depends what you mean by ‘science’ and ‘have to’

I would say science is the process of coming up with a falsifiable hypothesis, testing it, and seeing how accurately your hypothesis predicts the system you are looking at… and whether your hypothesis can be improved to make it a more accurate model.

So with this definition, there are very few actual jobs that ‘have to’ involve science.

If on the other hand you mean ‘involve science’ in terms of involving the products of science (this would cover very nearly every man-made thing you see around you)… I would say that I can’t think of any job where some understanding of science is not of some use.

      Hi Nuggets
Another difficult question from you because science is all around us and there are very few jobs that don’t involve an element of science. I thought I had come up with one – law, but it was pointed out to me that lawyers do sometimes have to know some science or learn some science to conduct cases; journalists need to have a knowledge of computers and information technology and fire fighters learn the principles of combustion.

So you have stumped me……can you think of any job that doesn’t involve science?
