I don’t know if I could chose just one favourite! I did a lot of tissue response experiments at uni and did one that was really amazing, because you put a rodent heart in an organ bath (which kind of mimics the body) and give it electrical pulses to make it beat. Then I tested the effect of different drugs on it – whether it made the heart beat harder, or slower – to find out where they worked. It was really informative and interesting, so that was pretty great.

Hmm that is a tricky question, how do you choose just one?
I think my first clinical study stands out as a favourite. I did this study on people – volunteers. It was something called a patch test. People had chemicals applied to their backs and we looked for reactions – these were ingredients to be put into creams so it was important to test the ingredients before using them in creams. The volunters were paid so they were happy and all those who reacted recovered without any ill effects.

So not an experiment in a laboratory, but still controlled by a method (called a protocol) and still one to be written up with results and conclusions.
