      Hi Flori
according to the Guiness Book of Records the longest time holding the breath underwater was 22 min 00 sec by Stig Severinsen (Denmark) at the London School of Diving in London, UK, on 3 May 2012. He did this by hyperventilation with oxygen first so he had a huge amount of the oxygen in his body beforehand.

      Wow – that’s amazing!
Usually three minutes without oxygen is enough to cause brain damage and people like you and me can probably manage a minute or two before passing out – you’d need to practice and train your body if you wanted to hold your breath for longer.
