It’s a way of doing things, coming up with hypothesis to try to prove and then planning an experiment to prove it one way or the other using the data produced in the experiment. And then when you do find something out, it always throws up new things to find out too.
What I love is that you can use this idea in lots of ways, not just in doing science but in your day to day life too, to help you make decisions based on evidence and fact, although sometimes you need to go with your gut too!
I love the uses and applications of science too, so many things we take for granted which make the world better or more fun are down to science.
Hi Tartanish
To me science is about discovering new things and asking questions. It is about improving life for everyone because science is everywhere!
To me, science is discovery. It’s about looking at the unknown – be it an unknown blood sample, or a problem with transport – and overcoming it through investigation.
It’s an approach as well; if you take a scientific approach you are committing to experiment and look at data analytically, to piece together the puzzle of evidence and come to sound conclusions.
Science is everything.
