• Question: is a zombie apocolalipse possible?

      Hi Matt
      I think it is fairly improbable that the civilised world will be invaded by a global zombie infestation anytime soon. As far as I know no human corpse has ever been brought back to life….and I think to be a zombie they have to have a hunger for human flesh as well. All sounds pretty horrible to me, so I really hope it is not possible. However….you may know differently?

      Luckily, a zombie apocalypse is an unlikely event. However, there are some parasites in animals that cause zombie-like symptons, like O. unilateralis which makes ants leave their normal habitat for one that the fungus likes, and Leucochloridium paradoxum which does a similar thing for snails. So who knows…maybe one day there will be a parasite that could turn humans in to zombies (but I hope not)
