It would depend on a lot of factors I think – what the environment was like, whether the population kept growing… there are lots of different food sources on earth though, so I think even if our staples (like grain) ran out we could adapt, or scientists might be able to develop replacements. I’m not a food scientist though, so they might have a more detailed answer for you 🙂

I think it is unlikely, there are scientists continually working on getting a larger crop from the same amount of seed, defeating disease and finding ways to grow crops using fewer resources.
