      Hi nicholas2959
It’s in your genes so there’s not a lot that you can do about it!
When you’re young, lack of sleep, lack of exercise, a diet full of salty foods and water retention can lead to bags which are prominent in the morning and less so in the afternoon. As you get older, bags under your eyes become a more permanent fixture as they are a natural part of aging.

So why do we get them? Well we all have fat in our faces, which is held in place by ligaments and muscles which weaken as we get older, and everything starts to sag — making the fat more visible

Another reason is because hormones like adrenaline help to keep you awake, and after you’re awake for a long time the glands that make these hormones get tired too, producing less (which makes you feel tired). Adrenaline and other hormones do more than just keep you awake though – they also cause vasocontriction (smaller blood vessels) – so when you’re tired blood sits closer to the surface of your skin in vasodilated blood vessels. The skin around your eyes is very thin, which is why being tired can make it look darker, giving you bags!
