When you immerse yourself in a foreign country it allows you to continuously hear the sounds, rhythms, and inflections of a new language – spoken on the streets, in buses, on television, etc. Your brain will already start to process and interpret the new language and if you are completely isolated from other native speakers of your language, your new language learning will be quicker.

Think about how babies learn language. it is through imitation and repetition and that is what happens to you when you are living in a foreign country
